Chapel Hill Free Will Baptist Church was founded on July 28, 1995 at the Holiday Inn on Roberts Rd. by Rev. John F. Beverly. A month later the church moved to Norton Middle School and met there for seven years. Attendees worshiped from their hard orange plastic seats and often brought along their own fans in the summer and blankets in the winter! But it was during this time that valuable lessons on caring, compassion and purpose were learned. In 2002, the church was able to acquire several acres of land off of Grove City Road and upon it built their first church building.
Growth continued, and in 2008 sand volleyball courts were added to the land marking the beginning of Chapel Hill's Sand Volleyball league , a positive and fun outreach for the community. An enclosed shelter house was completed in 2013 and now serves as the meeting place for Chapel Hill's CHAOS Youth group. Caring, compassion and purpose continue. The passion for growth still exists too and the church invites you to come grow with us!
